Brockman Elementary School is a Montessori School of Choice in the Columbia Forest Acres Community within Richland County School District One. Brockman is a school of 338 students which serves 3K through grade 5. The arts are an important, integral part of the day at Brockman and can be found in the classes throughout the cultural curriculum as well as experiences provided in art classes during and after the school day. The mission of the arts program is to provide an arts immersed educational environment where children can explore, discover, create and learn through active engagement in the arts. The primary goal of the arts at Brockman is to improve student achievement in the arts by developing standards-based programs in five arts areas. Brockman Elementary School offers visual art, dance and music during the school day. Additionally Brockman offers guitar, piano, clay, printmaking, dance, creative movement, creative writing, percussion club, drama, page to stage-theater, and wood art sculpture within the Fine Arts Booster after-school arts program. Brockman students have the opportunity to continue and expand their art experiences within the Richland One School District Gifted and Talented Arts program through an audition process and recommendations.
