Conder Arts Integrated Magnet School, in partnership with the parents and community, provides meaningful and engaging experiences through the arts and technology. Conder was established in 2005 and is one of the oldest elementary schools in Richland District Two. It serves neighborhood as well as choice students. Conder is a Title 1 school and offers many programs to enrich the lives of students. Arts programs offered include: World Drumming, Steel Pans, Dance, Strings, General Music, Visual Art and a STEAM Lab. In the STEAM Lab, students are encouraged to develop 21 Century skills such as collaboration, critical thinking, creativity and perseverance. Conder is the proud recipient of the Magnet School of Distinction Award in 2012 and the Magnet School of Merit Award for Distinction in 2015. Conder has also received the DAP (Distinguished Arts Program) since 2011. Conder uses Project Based Learning as a model for designing lessons. This allows for students to research knowledge, have transference to real world scenarios, and act as initiators of learning. Conder continues to design and develop new opportunities for students to excel through and in the arts.
