Our after-school arts programs include strings, guitar, boys’ choir, and dance (ballet, tap, and jazz). We also have Dance Company, an after-school performance troupe. In addition to our arts courses, teachers regularly integrate arts into core subject areas. Our classroom teachers and arts teachers work diligently to provide the best comprehensive curriculum to our students. We offer yearly staff development opportunities in arts integration for all our teachers and use Sean Layne’s “Acting Right” as our school-wide discipline program. Aiken County Public School District offers a summer program for artistically gifted and talented students called acGATEWAY. Students are required to audition for the program and, if accepted, attend summer courses taught by talented and highly qualified arts teachers. We were named a 2014-15 Title I Distinguished Schools Reward for Progress honorable mention.
