Lady’s Island Elementary School is an arts integrated school of choice. Currently, our school has 341 students in grades Pre K through Fifth. We are a Title 1 and Community Eligibility Provision school with 100% of our students receiving subsidized meals. The school is located in a suburban area. In 2000, we became the first arts integrated school in the Beaufort County School District. This is our seventh year being an ABC site. Other arts grants received at our school include The Peggy Mae Foundation and the Distinguished Art Program. Our school’s mission is “to create a dynamic environment that goes beyond academics and provides a curriculum rich in the arts, which helps students acquire the knowledge, skills, creativity and self-confidence to achieve at their highest potential.” Each student is afforded standards based lessons is theatre, dance, music and visual art once a week. Students also have the opportunity to participate in performing arts programs afterschool. These students perform in local venues throughout the school year. Our Artistically Gifted and Talented students are also served through these programs. Classroom and art specialists work together to create and teach arts integrated lessons during the school day. Students at Lady’s Island Elementary School love the arts and are excited about learning.
