The story of Campobello Gramling School is one that is ever-changing. We opened our doors in 1968 and have been the heart of our small community for years. Throughout our history, our building has been used as a community meeting center, an auditorium for cultural events, and even church services. Our citizens value the education of our children and are supportive of our school and the arts. We are always proud to open our doors to community members who join us to celebrate the artistic achievements of our students. Our community is predominantly agricultural, and many of our parents commute to larger neighboring cities for work. Our school remains the center of the small town, and students and families must travel to nearby cities for exposure to the arts. Because of this, arts experiences are often only available to our students at our school.
As a result, we are committed to providing creative, unique, and global arts experiences that expose all students to the fine and performing arts. As a Palmetto’s Finest School, Schools to Watch, and Arts in Basic Curriculum School, we believe we have a story to tell about our dedication to academics and the arts through programs such as Artist in Residence, MUSE Machine, community performances, STEAM Night, arts curriculum enhancements, and others.
We know that students must be offered high-quality arts exposure and innovative experiences that will positively increase achievement and engagement. Our Academic Arts classes for our elementary students include art, music, media arts, and dance. Middle School students have the opportunity to participate in art, music, chorus, dance, media arts, Gateway to Technology, band, and orchestra. Students in grades 4-8 have a variety of after school activities that include One Voice, Studio Art, and various robotics teams.
The vision of the Campobello Gramling Visual and Performing Arts program is to provide exemplary sequential arts instruction, delivered with depth and integrity, so that every student is exposed to comprehensive and innovative arts experience in all grades K-8.
As we look forward to the future, we want to focus on the vision of our school: To read this vision, we CARE about the arts, we GIVE students the opportunity to shine, and we SHOWCASE the talents of every student.
