Campobello Gramling School

District: Spartanburg 1  /  Site Since 2018

The story of Campobello Gramling School is one that is ever- changing. We opened our doors in 1968 and have been the heart of our small community for years. Throughout our history, our building has been used as a community meeting center, an auditorium for cultural events, and even church services. Our citizens value the education of our children and are supportive of our school and the arts. We are always proud to open our doors to community members who join us to celebrate the artistic achievements of our students. Our community is predominantly agricultural, and many of our parents commute to larger neighboring cities for work. Our school remains the center of the small town, and students and families must travel to nearby cities for exposure to the arts. Because of this, arts experiences are often only available to our students at our school. As a result, we are committed to providing creative, unique, and global arts experiences that expose all students to the fine and performing arts. As a Palmetto’s Finest School, Schools to Watch, and Arts in Basic Curriculum School, we believe we have a story to tell about our dedication to academics and the arts through programs such as Artist in Residence, MUSE Machine, community performances, STEAM Night, arts curriculum enhancements, and others. We know that students must be offered high-quality arts exposure and innovative experiences that will positively increase achievement and engagement. We share our love and appreciation for the arts with our students, parents and community members. Some of our programs that invite parents and community members into the building: 8th Grade Art Show, Pork Chop Production Finale Show, Grade Level Student/Parent Arts Showcases (All grade levels), STEAM Night, Fine Arts Concerts, District One Art Show, Youth Art Month at the Chapman Cultural Center.
